Pixel 6 & Pixel 6 Pro: Google Camera 8.8 brings faster Night Sight and longer exposure times

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro

Google Camera 8.8 now brings faster night sight and longer exposure times to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. First introduced for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, Google touts that Night Sight photos "have less motion blur because the exposure time can be half as long as before."

Night Sight now requires half the normal exposure time to produce beautiful low-light images that are sharper than before.

Google Camera 8.8 brings the relevant changes to the app. Tapping can now select 2 seconds or Max (up to 6 seconds). Depending on the recording conditions, recording may then take between 2 and 6 seconds.

Basically, Google now lets the user choose between faster night vision or a longer exposure time for better image quality.
