"1080p Premium" coming soon to YouTube
YouTube seems to be launching once again with a new video option that seems to be already available for some users. A new option has been spotted appearing for some users of the video streaming service.
YouTube appears to be testing a new video quality option dubbed "1080p Premium." However, in this test, YouTube added a tagline that reads "Enhanced Bitrate" below the new option, which is currently being tested for mobile viewers.
For now, the current version of the 1080p video option is a more compressed form of itself. Premium members who want sharper, higher-quality videos can upgrade to 4K resolution, but this means more technical effort due to the size of the video.
The word "premium" suggests that this option is another feature hidden behind a YouTube paywall and requires users to purchase a subscription to the streaming service.
