Galaxy Watch 5: Samsung fixes Watch 4 vulnerability
Samsung ushered in a new era with the Galaxy Watch 4. With the new generation of smartwatches, they switched to Google's Wear OS operating system. With the Galaxy Watch 5 you want to solve a problem that has become very clear with the switch to Google.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5: Larger battery confirmed
We recently reported that the Galaxy Watch 4 will have a slightly larger 40mm battery to increase the runtime of the smartwatch. According to the latest information, this also applies to the 44 mm model. The battery is said to increase from 361 mAh to 397 mAh . That's not the world now, but it should ensure that you can run for two days. In the test of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, I managed a runtime of almost two days. With a slightly larger battery, the weak point should be closed (source: SamMobile).
Samsung has installed batteries of the same size in the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic. The sizes used to be different. The Classic model always got a bigger battery. So we have to assume that the Galaxy Watch 5 Classic with 42 and 46 mm have the same energy storage and therefore have the same runtime. It remains to be hoped that Samsung and Google have optimized the software to reduce energy consumption.
What makes the current Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 so special:
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 should be able to measure temperature
While the Galaxy Watch 4 was basically just an update because of the operating system, the Galaxy Watch 5 should also have a new function. Accordingly, the Smartwatch should be able to measure the temperature. Samsung and other companies have been working on this function for a long time, but have so far failed due to the complexity, as no reliable values could be determined. But now the difficulties should be eliminated and the sensor should be ready for use. This would give you added value that no other manufacturer offers.
