Xiaomi was one of the first smartphone manufacturers to launch a device with a foldable screen. However, before Xiaomi launched the MIX Fold last year, there were already a few other models from Huawei, Samsung and Motorola. Now the successor Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is slowly being expected.

The first generation Xiaomi MIX Fold featured a number of innovative technologies, such as liquid lenses. To be fair, however, it must be said that the Xiaomi MIX Fold has not achieved perfect folding performance. Therefore, many users were not satisfied with the overall performance of this phone.

However, this was Xiaomi's first attempt at making a smartphone with a foldable screen. Xiaomi is rumored to be working on a new foldable phone that will be launched later this year.

Now, some information about the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has allegedly been found in the l18 code. The latter refers to the codename of Xiaomi's new generation of foldable-screen flagship. And Xiaomi's next foldable will allow unique folding. The phone is said to support reverse folding. If this is the case, Xiaomi would be the first company to release a smartphone with a reversible screen.

In fact, Xiaomi has been working on a foldable mobile phone prototype since 2018. A few years ago we saw a phone that folds both ways. It was known as the U1 model.
