Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro launched with 144Hz display and 120 watt fast charge
Xiaomi Black Shark on Wednesday launched a new series of Black Shark 5 gaming smartphones in China. This series consists of Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro. Both phones bring a new design unlike previous models and have the latest hardware. These phones come with SharkEye RGB fancy light effect on the back.
Prices for the Black Shark 5 start at 2799 yuan (about $ 441) for the 8GB + 128 version, 2999 yuan (about $ 472) for the 12GB + 128GB version, and 3299 yuan (about $ 520) for the 12GB + 256GB version . The phone is available in black, white and gray.
The Black Shark 5 Pro is priced at 4,199 yuan (about $ 661) for the 8GB + 25GB version, 4,699 yuan (~ $ 740) for the 12GB + 256GB version, and 5499 yuan (~ $ 866) for the 16GB + 512GB version . This model has the colors of meteorite black and white of Tiangong.
The Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro have a 6.67-inch FHD + display (2400 x 1080 pixels) with a resolution of up to 144 Hz. The display is a Samsung E4 AMOLED panel with a maximum brightness of 1300 nits, DC light reduction and 100% P3 color spectrum, and supports HDR10 + and 1.07 billion colors. This screen has a touch sampling rate of 720 Hz and two-zone pressure sensitivity that is used for gamers. It also has SGS Blu-ray certification and an 8.3ms multi-finger touch response delay.
The Black Shark 5 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm 8 SoC Snapdragon 1 generation chip with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 and 512GB of UFS 3.1 + SSD memory. This combination of storage space is called Disk Array 2.0 technology, and thanks to it, read and write speeds have increased by 55% and 69%, respectively. The Vanilla Black Shark 5 has a Snapdragon 870 chip with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 memory.
AnTuTu Pro leaked points show that the phone scored 1,129,716 points. Both models have a VC cooling system and the Peru has a large VC area of 5320 square millimeters. Since both phones are gaming-specific, they have magnetic trigger buttons that provide a better gaming experience.
Both phones have a dual camera system, and the Pro has a 108-megapixel Samsung S5KHM2 main lens, a 13-megapixel OmniVision OV13B10 ultra-wide sensor, and a 5-megapixel telephoto lens for the Samsung S5K5E9. The Vanilla Black Shark has a 64-megapixel main lens, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. On the front, both have a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies.
These phones have a 4650 mAh battery with support for 120 watt fast charge technology. The company claims that the phone can be fully charged in just 15 minutes. The Pro has a speakerphone tuning that scored a remarkable 86 in the DXOMARK audio test. Both phones boot on Android 12 and have JoyUI 13. In terms of connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth version 5.2.
