WhatsApp unleashed: New function will make many things easier
WhatsApp is opening up more and more. The world's most popular messenger adds more features that make it easier to use and communicate between people. Now a limit is to be greatly expanded, which previously seemed a bit puny. It's about the file size of data that can be sent.
WhatsApp wants to make it easier to send files
Not only text messages are sent via WhatsApp, but also pictures, videos and files. Depending on the project, however, certain limits are set. At least one limit is to be greatly expanded. According to WABetaInfo, the file limit for sending files is to be increased from 100 MB to 2 GB . The first selected beta testers have already been able to find out the new limit. To do this, a large file was sent to receive the limit message. It was found out that the files that can be sent via Messenger can soon be 20x larger.
The WhatsApp professionals at WABetaInfo are currently unable to estimate when exactly the function will be released for WhatsApp Android and iOS users. So far, only very few people in Argentina have access to it. It is quite possible that WhatsApp is testing the intended use there and wants to find out whether the function is used heavily and how this affects the infrastructure. If testing goes well, expect the feature to be released to everyone soon .
The best WhatsApp alternatives have some merits:
WhatsApp will soon unlock reactions
WhatsApp is not only planning to change the increase in file size when sending via WhatsApp, but also wants to add reactions as we know it from Facebook. In order to reply to a message, an image or a video, you don't have to write a message yourself, as was previously the case, but you can simply attach an emoji . First users could already access it. The big rollout for everyone should not be far off either.
