Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4: Leaks reveal the first details of Samsung s cheaper foldable phone
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be launched in August alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 4 as Samsung's more affordable foldable smartphone. A number of leaks have now surfaced that give an insight into the technical details of the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
While the Galaxy Z Fold 4 continues to dominate the rumor mill, Samsung also has the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in the works. So far there has been radio silence about the more affordable foldable phone, but that seems to be changing today.
As now reported, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 should come onto the market with a larger battery than its predecessor. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Flip 3 both had 3,300mAh batteries, which were obviously limited by the phones' form factors. According to the source, the battery capacity could increase by 300mAh to 600mAh. This higher battery capacity would also require a larger case, so the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is said to be wider than its predecessor.
It seems that Samsung expects a huge increase in sales of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 as well. According to supply chain analyst Ross Young, shipments of the displays for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will begin next month. Samsung is said to have ordered 8.7 million panels, as opposed to the 5.1 million it made for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 last year. That means an increase in deliveries of around 70 percent.
