Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+
Samsung has already unveiled the Galaxy S flagships for 2022 and now the company is apparently shifting its focus to this year's foldable devices, namely the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. Ice Universe is now reporting that these devices will be launched with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ will be equipped.
It also confirms the Korean manufacturer's rumor yesterday of a third device set to launch alongside these devices - it's codenamed Diamond and could even have a rollable screen, similar to the Oppo X 2021 Rollable concept.
Samsung may have its own flagship chipset -- the Exynos 2200 with an ARM architecture-based GPU -- but the Galaxy foldables have featured Qualcomm SoCs since the first Fold three years ago.
Samsung Display is able to produce flexible panels, but there are still many challenges, so it will only be produced in very limited numbers. Oppo's prototype was unveiled in late 2020, and almost 18 months later we still haven't seen a product ready for the market.
