Redmi K40S comes with Snapdragon 870 chip, OIS and 67 watt fast charge

The Xiaomi Redmi K40S has been introduced in China alongside the Redmi K50 and K50 Pro. The K40S is the brother of Redmi K40, which was released last year. The K40 was a popular device with sales of over 10 million units. The K40's widespread popularity may have spurred the Chinese tech giant to launch the K40S despite the release of the K50 series.

Redmi K40S improves the design and features of the K40 with several improvements while maintaining its strengths. One of the upgraded aspects is the cooling system. The Redmi K40S uses a 3112 mm2 VC cooled heat dissipation system instead of the liquid-cooled copper tube used in the K40. The new cooling area has been increased by 400%. As a result of the advanced cooling system, the new model supports 120-frame online multiplayer online battlefield (MOBA) mode.

Another aspect in which the K40S has been upgraded is charging technology. The K40 supports 67 watts of fast charge twice as much as the 33 watt fast charge in the Redmi K40. Therefore, the charging time is reduced from 52 minutes to 38 minutes.

The Redmi K40S also has an upgraded camera system. Although the Sony IMX582 48-megapixel main camera is the same as its predecessor, the main camera has optical image stabilization (OIS), which provides stability when capturing photos and videos on the go. The main camera is combined with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens.

Finally, the Redmi K40S comes with some design improvements. This device has abandoned the design of its previous curved edges. This phone weighs 195 grams and is 7.7 mm thick  It is a little lighter and thinner.

In other respects, the Redmi K40S uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset with 6/8/12GB LPDDR5 memory and 128 / 256GB UFS 3.1 memory. This phone has a 6.67-inch screen of Samsung E4 AMOLED Direct with FHD + resolution and supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz. There is a 4500 mAh battery in this phone.

The Redmi K40S comes with side fingerprint recognition and a 20-megapixel selfie camera. It also comes with Wi-Fi 6, support for Dolby Atmos, X-axis linear motor, NFC, infrared remote control and more.

The price of the K40S is slightly higher than the K40. Prices start at 1799 yuan ($ 283) for the 128 + 6GB version. The prices of other versions are as follows:
