In addition to the Galaxy A33 and A53: Samsung has unveiled a third, previously secret smartphone
With the Galaxy A33 5G and A53 5G, Samsung has unveiled two new mid-range smartphones that have been technically upgraded compared to their popular predecessors and offer good value for money. In fact, with the Galaxy A73 5G, there was a third smartphone that is so secret that there was not even a press release about it.
Samsung Galaxy A73 5G: The secret third smartphone
Many must have wondered why Samsung only introduced two new mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy A53 5G. Even the official press release only mentions the two models. Nothing from the third cell phone could be seen in the live stream either. The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G does exist - but it's a double-edged sword . It is not coming to Europe for the time being and has not been technically improved everywhere.
Basically, the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A73 5G are very similar. As always, the A73 has a slightly larger 6.7-inch display with 120 Hz and Full HD+ resolution, the mid-range processor and a slightly better camera. The camera is only marginally better than the Galaxy A72. The main sensor is now a 108 MP camera, but for some reason the 8 MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom is removed and replaced with a depth camera. This is also the case with the other two cell phones. So it's a real downgrade for people who want to pull objects a little closer.
Otherwise, you also get the 5,000 mAh battery here, but you have to do without the power supply. The internal memory of 128 or 256 GB can be expanded using a microSD card and the smartphone is of course IP67-certified, so that the smartphone is well protected against water and dust. The five-year update guarantee also applies here .
What the new mid-range smartphones from Samsung can do:
Why is the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G kept so secret?
The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G is scheduled to launch in select markets on April 22, 2022. For the time being, however, this does not apply to Europe. However, we will be offering the Galaxy A53 5G on April 1st and the Galaxy A33 5G from April 22nd, 2022. And that's totally okay, because the Galaxy A73 5G would probably be far too expensive. You can now get the Galaxy S21 FE for around 500 euros. So who would pay more for bad equipment? Probably hardly anyone.
