A little step further at the driving level that hides discreet benefits
To tell the truth, once we take a look at this new Xiaomi Electric Scooter 3 Lite we do not find too many aesthetic differences with respect to other Xiaomi electric scooters, but there are some interesting details that have been modified.
The first of them, as we have mentioned before, has to do with the folding system, which has been slightly modified with a much more robust lever than in previous generations in order to avoid clearance problems but, as occurs in most systems of this type, they will end up appearing sooner or later with the use of the vehicle.
Another detail that Xiaomi has wanted to highlight is that the distance to the ground of the chassis has been improved by up to 10 mm, going from the 151 mm that we had in the Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter 1S to the 141 mm of this new generation which, On paper, it should provide greater driving stability thanks to a lower center of gravity.
But this improvement does not stop here, since the Asian firm has also increased the width of the base of the skate by up to 10 mm with the aim of being able to place our feet in a more comfortable position, an aspect that will improve its driving.
In addition, Xiaomi has also incorporated a new LCD panel in its upper part that adds some extra data to what we already had. Of course, the speed and battery indicators are still maintained, but now we have a new indicator for high temperatures, mechanical failures, skid lock or active cruise control, so it is a very interesting improvement for our safety.
But hey, beyond these aesthetic changes we have to talk about its benefits, which remain quite similar to other products in this family. For example, its motor still has a nominal power of 250W with a maximum speed of up to 25 km/h and a range that can reach 20 km thanks to its 5,200 mAh battery, quite discreet figures.
Of course, the driving modes to choose between pedestrian, D mode and S mode are still maintained from which we can manage their power, compatibility with the Mi Home app to be able to configure aspects of the vehicle and the 8.5" wheels with usual air chamber already within this family.
Finally, we also want to tell you that the vehicle's brake system has been modified, going from the well-known rear disc brake of previous versions to a drum brake, which does not require maintenance and will maintain intact braking performance even when driving in conditions of rain, an interesting aspect that improves our safety although we lose some performance in terms of the power of the braking itself.
Price and availability of the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 3 Lite
As we have indicated at the beginning of this post, the new Xiaomi Electric Scooter 3 Lite has just been presented in China today although, for the moment, we do not have information on when it could arrive in our country although, considering reference to its previous generations, everything seems to indicate that it will do so sooner rather than later.
Its official price is set at 1,999 yuan, about 283 euros in exchange , a price that will surely vary once it lands in our country, although we still do not know its possible value in exchange.
