Fritz apps: New functions for Android and iOS
The Fritzbox manufacturer AVM has provided two of its apps with new functions. The Fritz App Fon for iPhones has new telephone technology, while the Fritz App WLAN for Android offers new measurements for wireless networks.
AVM: Fritz apps get new functions
Anyone who owns a Fritzbox has certainly taken a look at the provider's apps. There is now a whole range available for Android smartphones and iPhones. The Berlin router manufacturer has now updated two of the apps. Overall, the changes are limited, but the free download certainly doesn't hurt.
Version 5.0.0 of the Fritz App Fon for iPhones is now available in the App Store. The update brings the latest iOS technology for phone calls in the form of call signaling to the app (source: AVM). The prerequisite is FritzOS in version 7.20 or later on the accompanying Fritzbox. At least iOS 14 must be installed on the iPhone.

As usual, the Fritz app Fon allows you to make calls at home via the landline and the Internet . The Fritzbox answering machine can also be tapped. The Android version of the app was updated a few days ago.

Fritz app WLAN for Android in a new version
AVM has currently only released the update for the Fritz app WLAN for Android cell phones. The new version 2.12.0 offers as a highlight the display of the latency in the WLAN. This can be called up in the app via the "Measure WLAN" menu item. In addition, the display of the channel bandwidth of the current connection has been revised.
