Vivo steps on the gas: These phones will soon be getting Android 12
The Chinese manufacturer Vivo has announced its update schedule for Android 12. According to this, German users will receive the new version of the mobile operating system from Google from January 2022. Depending on the mobile phone, however, it may take until the end of April 2022.
Vivo phones: Android 12 will be distributed from January 2022
Vivo has explained when the smartphones of the Chinese manufacturer will be supplied with Android 12. A first update is expected at the end of January 2022 , but only for two cell phones. Around a month later, the second wave of updates will be launched for German users. According to the update schedule, some customers will have to be patient until the end of April 2022.
The Vivo X60 Pro and Vivo V21 5G , which will receive the update at the end of January 2022, will begin . The smartphones came on the market in April and May 2021 with Android 11 and Vivos Funtouch 11.1.
The Y-series smartphones will follow at the end of February 2022. Vivo names the Y52 5G and Y52S , which were released in mid-2021. Further models in the Y series will be equipped with Android 12 at the end of April 2022. The manufacturer lists the Y33s, Y21s, Y70 and Y20s cell phones in a press release.

For all of the smartphones mentioned, it can be assumed that Android updates will be supplied for two years. Only cell phones of the X series, which came on the market from July 2021, will receive new Android versions for three years.
Vivo: China manufacturer in fourth place in Germany
Vivo has now increased its market share in Germany to 10 percent. This puts the manufacturer in fourth place, together with Oppo. In its home market of China, Vivo recently suffered losses as Apple made massive gains with its iPhone 13. With a special folding smartphone, Vivo could secure new market shares in the future.
