HarmonyOS 3.0 is just around the corner: Huawei is planning the big breakthrough
Only one thing is currently going well for Huawei: the distribution of HarmonyOS 2.0. But the new operating system will be replaced by a more up-to-date version 3.0 in just a few weeks. Could the global breakthrough finally begin?
HarmonyOS 3.0 will be released in October
So far, Huawei has distributed HarmonyOS 2.0 for its smartphones and tablets. In China, over 120 million devices have now been updated with it. We have already asked ourselves when the new operating system will be made available worldwide. But that could not happen with version 2.0, but with HarmonyOS 3.0. The Chinese company has now confirmed that the new version will be shown "very soon" (source: GSMArena).
Huawei is holding its developer conference on October 24th . HarmonyOS 3.0 will be shown there and may also be announced for global release. It is about time, because the new operating system has so far only been offered in Germany with the purchase of new tablets and smartwatches. For smartphones, which are actually the link between the two device classes, Huawei still relies on Android.
It is of course not yet known which changes HarmonyOS 3.0 will bring with it. With HarmonyOS 2.0, Huawei has already proven that many parts of the operating system have been put to good use. With the widgets in particular, the Chinese company has found its own solution that offers real added value. We'll show you what it looks like in the following video :
Honor will soon be able to use Google apps again
Huawei also provides HarmonyOS 2.0 for older Honor smartphones. Since the split, Honor has been independent and will soon unveil the Honor 50, the first smartphone that can work with Google services and apps again. Other restrictions do not apply to Honor either, so that the smartphone manufacturer in China is returning to its old strength. One can only hope that the US ban doesn't come after all.
