At the beginning of the year, Xiaomi presented its first foldable smartphone , the Mi MIX Fold, which had a form factor similar to the Galaxy Fold series. Now there is evidence that the manufacturer is working on a new MIX Fold device that is set to take on Samsung's recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 3.

According to the latest rumors, the Chinese manufacturer is working on a new MIX Fold series device. However, the new foldable smartphone will be a refresh model and not a MIX Fold 2. The new refresh version should have an external and internal screen with a high refresh rate as well as 120 watt fast charging support for the large 5,000 mAh battery. According to reports, the new MIX Fold will also have a camera under the front display.

These are pretty big upgrades from the 67 watt loading of the original MIX Fold, which also just had a high refresh rate for its external display. The camera under the display is likely to be the biggest upgrade - hopefully the image quality will also be good.

However, it is still unclear when Xiaomi will present the new MIX Fold. However, previous reports had indicated that a new foldable phone from the manufacturer would hit the market sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.
