{Disarmed} Twitch with massive data breach, source code disclosed
According to Video Games Chronicle, an anonymous hacker uploaded all of the data from Twitch to 4chan in a 125 GB torrent. According to the report, the data may not have been stolen until Monday. Twitch has confirmed the vulnerability and promised to release further details as soon as the investigation is completed.
In addition to all of Twitch's source code, the leak is said to also contain developer payout reports from 2019, proprietary SDKs and internal AWS services, internal "red teaming tools" and an unreleased Steam challenger, codenamed Vapor by Amazon Game Studios.
The torrent file was named "Twitch Leaks Part One" by the hacker, which suggests that more data may come online soon. It remains unclear whether the hacker was able to obtain personal information from Twitch users, such as: B. your account password or your address.
If you are a Twitch user, you should definitely change your password and activate two-factor authentication for your account. To activate two-factor authentication, log into your Twitch account and click on the avatar. Then click on Settings and set up two-factor authentication under Security and data protection.
Twitch has come under fire lately for its inaction regarding hatred and harassment on its platform. Last month, some Twitch streamers boycotted the company for a day to put pressure on it to do something about it. Maybe the data breach has something to do with it?
