The Galaxy Note 8 was a very important device for Samsung. It had to reassure customers that Samsung's Galaxy Note series is safe. And with the Galaxy Note 8, Samsung has hit the bull's eye. It helped Samsung put the unfortunate exploding Galaxy Note 7 behind. But now the time has come for the Galaxy Note 8.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was introduced in 2017. It had great features and a new design. The device already had a dual camera when this trend was just beginning. Samsung has only released two major Android OS upgrades for the device. Android 10 with One UI 2.0 was not available for the model.

For four years, however, there had been security updates for the device. It wasn't until October last year that the Galaxy Note 8 switched from the monthly update plan to the quarterly one. And now it's all over.

The last update it received in August 2021 will be the last. Samsung has completely removed the Galaxy Note 8 from its security update plan. It will not receive any more updates in the future.
