China manufacturer declares war: the cheapest 120 Hz cell phone is coming to Germany
The Realme 8i is coming to Germany. There is nowhere cheaper a display with 120 Hertz, says the manufacturer. Apart from the fast refresh rate, the display leaves a good impression.
Realme 8i: Inexpensive 120 Hz cell phone on the way
The Chinese manufacturer Realme is expanding its 8 series with the Realme 8i. Unlike the standard version, the upcoming mobile phone will have a display with a refresh rate of a full 120 Hertz - even though it is a fairly inexpensive mobile phone.
The screen should not only shine with a fast refresh rate for smooth scrolling, but also score in other areas. The manufacturer specifies a diagonal of 6.6 inches and the resolution is 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. In addition, there is a strong brightness of up to 600 nits. Hardly any other cell phone in this price segment shines so brightly.
The large display is supported by a battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh . USB-C is available as a connection, the charging process takes place with 18 watts. For the processor, the decision was made for the Helio G96 from MediaTek with 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of expandable permanent storage (UFS 2.1). It is not yet clear whether all the configurations mentioned will appear in this country.

There are three cameras installed on the back of the Realme 8i, but only one is really worth mentioning. The wide angle allows pictures with up to 50 MP. There is also a macro lens and a depth sensor (2 MP each). Selfies are possible with 12 MP, the camera is embedded in the display.
Realme 8i from October 14th in Germany
The exact price for the German market has not yet been revealed, in India the Realme 8i is available for the equivalent of around 150 euros . The cell phone will be a bit more expensive here. Realme specifies October 14, 2021 as the start date for mobile phones.
