Inspired by the Pixel 6: Google s Android tablet is a feast for the eyes

Google is about to present new Pixel phones, so a tablet with Android 12 would be a good fit. Now there are at least the first render images showing a chic pixel tablet from Google.

While Android is extremely successful in the smartphone sector, things are not looking so rosy for tablets. Apple clearly dominates the market with its iPads and some manufacturers have given up the Android experiment on tablets completely after a few attempts. Now, however, Google itself could appear again as a manufacturer of a tablet.

The background to the rumors is a recently published patent in which the Japanese subsidiary of Google describes an almost futuristic tablet . The tablet shown has hardly anything in common with the Pixel Slate, even if properties and specifications have remained a secret so far.

The first render images show a tablet with particularly thin bezels and rounded corners. It looks strongly inspired by the Pixel 6, which is not only noticeable in the color scheme. The characteristic power and volume buttons are also copied from the pixel cell phone. The designer also imagines a camera hole in the display (source: LetsGoDigital).

Of course, Google could opt for Chrome OS instead of Android 12, which is used in the Group's 2-in-1 laptops. Google's last tablet, the Pixel Slate, also came out with Chrome OS. Previously, Google's tablets were equipped with Android, such as the Pixel C from 2015.
