{Disarmed} Fairphone 4 5G will have Snapdragon 750G and a removable battery, but no headphone jack
Fairphone is one of the few companies that focuses on repairability and reduced environmental impact when developing smartphones. The Fairphone 3+ was launched almost exactly a year ago with a Snapdragon 632 chipset, and the Fairphone 4 5G has already shown up in leaks a few times. The device was certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance in August, and the first images were leaked mid-month. Now more details have surfaced about the phone, including technical details.
WinFuture has released new renderings of the Fairphone 4 5G that show a little more than the previous leaks. The phone will reportedly have a metal frame - a notable upgrade over the all-plastic design of the Fairphone 3 - but there isn't a headphone jack anywhere. That could be why Fairphone is reportedly working on a pair of true wireless earbuds. WinFuture also confirmed previous rumors about a 48 MP main camera and 6.3 ″ screen (likely an LCD, not OLED).
It's also likely that the phone will have a Snapdragon 750G chipset, which is a significant improvement over the Snapdragon 632 in the current Fairphone 3. The fingerprint sensor was moved from the back of the case to the power button. As for the software, the phone comes with Android 11.
Fairphone still has a teaser page on its website for a future announcement, with the option to sign up for emails about upcoming products. The Fairphone 4 5G will likely be announced on September 30th.
