{Disarmed} YouTube Music already has an official application for Wear OS, although for now it is exclusive to the Galaxy Watch4
YouTube Music is Google's subscription music service (following the closure of Google Play Music ). The service competes directly against Apple Music, Amazon Music and Spotify, which just a few days ago enabled the option to download music on watches with Wear OS .
So far, YouTube Music did not have an application for Wear OS , but Google has remedied it. The company has released the official YouTube Music app for Wear OS, but it has done so to a very limited extent. Why? Because, for now at least, it will only be available on the new Samsung Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic .
YouTube Music yes, but only on the latest Samsung watches
The YouTube Music application is already available on Wear OS, but as Google highlights on its support page, you can only "listen to YouTube Music on Wear OS with Samsung technology" , that is, on the Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic , since they are the only ones with Wear OS in the Korean catalog.
And it is curious that this is the case, since the new Samsung smartwatches will not be launched until tomorrow. In that way, and at least for the moment, watches likeSuunto or Mobvoi TicWatch are left without the application. It is expected that it will arrive at some point or other, but for now Samsung is left with the exclusive.
In xiaomist.com The best smartwatch (2021): buying guide and comparisonThe application allows you to download music on the watch and listen to it without an Internet connection (as long as we have a Bluetooth headset connected to the watch), but it does not seem possible to stream in real time when we have the watch connected to the mobile phone or the LTE network.
It also allows you to control music playback, manage downloads, and 'like' songs right from your wrist. Note that YouTube Music playback appears to be limited to 128 kbps AAC .
