EMUI 11: Notes on the HarmonyOS upgrade and possible Android waiver

Huawei has distributed EMUI 11 for the Huawei P40, Mate 30 and MatePad Pro series in China. Huawei is now preparing for the rollout in Europe.

The EMUI 11 update for the Huawei P40, P40 Pro, P40 Pro + and Mate 30 Pro models will have some important changes in Europe.

In the stable EMUI 11 build for the Huawei P40 Pro, there are signs of the HarmonyOS upgrade and the abandonment of the Android branding.

The official "Powered by Android" logo can no longer be seen, instead the boot animation now shows this in simple text. The security patch levels in the About section of the phone are also displayed differently than before. There, too, nothing can be read from Android in official form.

So it seems that Huawei is slowly preparing to finally say goodbye to Android in official form and the dependence on Google with EMUI 11.
