Three lenses and a wihajster. ZenFone 7 officially presented
Without a doubt, the most recognizable feature of ZenFone 7 will be its bizarre yet functional camera. Fortunately, the new Asus smartphone also has more advantages.
As with the two previous ZenFones, the ZenFone 7 also uses a very original rotating camera mechanism. In fact, the main novelty here is the addition of a third lens, although apparently the rotation mechanism itself has also been improved. The new lens is an 80 mm telephoto module, which will complement the main 64-megapixel IMX686 module and a 12-megapixel wide-angle module, which is also used for macro photos. The Pro version of the new ZenFone - and only this - also provides an optical image stabilization mechanism.
Not only the camera. Asus ZenFone 7 promises to be a very functional phone.
The phones have an OLED display with a diagonal of 6.67 inches and a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It uses the mechanism from Pixelworks to correctly calibrate the colors and adjust the brightness to the environmental conditions.
The Snapdragon 865 processor with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM (two versions will be available for sale) and 128 GB of UFS 3.1 memory are responsible for the performance. The more expensive ZenFone 7 Pro will be equipped with a Snapdragon 865+ with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 memory. These strong components will be accompanied by a decent battery - with a capacity of 5000 mAh and support for fast charging with a power of 30 W. The phone also has a fingerprint reader on the side of the device.
Unfortunately, there was no headphone connector. Fortunately, the glass cover of the phone should be relatively durable. The front is covered with Gorilla Glass 6, the reverse is Gorilla Glass 3.
ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro will be available for sale from September. Their prices are not yet known.
