HTC Wildfire E2: The next smartphone from Taiwan is just around the corner
HTC had not been on the smartphone market for a long time before returning last month with its first 5G device - the HTC U20 5G - and the mid-range device HTC Desire 20 Pro. This return, as it turned out, was not everything. There is more to come.
The Taiwan-based company is developing a new entry-level smartphone called HTC Wildfire E2, which has appeared in the Google Play Console. The listing reveals several specifications and a picture of the front.
HTC plans to equip the smartphone with a 6.2 ″ display with "Notch", which is characterized by an HD + resolution (1,520 x 720 pixels) and a pixel density of 320ppi. This goes hand in hand with relatively slim side frames and a too thick chin.
The MediaTek Helio P22 is supposed to work inside. HTC also chose decent 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. It is not yet known whether the memory will be expandable.
The package is rounded off by Android 10, paired with the usual HTC Sense overlay and a fingerprint scanner that seems to be on the back.
HTC has not yet confirmed plans to launch the Wildfire E2, but its appearance on the Google Play Console suggests that an introduction could take place shortly.
