Bank Pekao with support for Visa cards in Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay. How to use and on what devices?
Good news for those who have an account and Visa card at Pekeao Bank and use Garmina or Fitbit watches. From today they can pay with them almost anywhere.
The mere presence of Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay at Bank Pekao is obviously not new - the bank has been offering this form of mobile payments for almost a year (debut at the end of July 2019). Until now, only Mastercard cards were supported - Visa cards could not be added to the Garmina and Fitbit payment systems.
From now on, this problem is gone, and the bank announces that soon Visa cards (Visa Debit Gold and Visa Business Debit) will also be able to be added to Apple Pay wallets.
How does Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay work?
The principle of operation of both services is simple - from the application on the smartphone we add our physical card to the digital wallet (it takes a few minutes), after which we can leave the wallet at home, and use a watch or a wristband for payment in almost any store that supports contactless payments. Just select the appropriate application on your watch or wristband, enter the code and put the device on the reader. That's it.
You do not have to ask specifically if we can pay with a watch or announce that we want to do it. I usually say that I would like to pay by card, then put my wrist with the watch to the terminal. And I'm not alone in this - hardly any seller is surprised today by this form of payment for shopping.
And although most of us almost always have a phone with them, a spare card in a watch or wristband can really be useful - even if we forget the phone once a year, or consciously go without it, e.g. run and want on the road return to buy something to drink.
What do I need to pay with Garmin Pay or Fitbit Pay?
In this case - accounts at Bank Pekao, Visa or Mastercard, Fitbit or Garmin Connect applications (you have it anyway, because how else to synchronize your watch with your phone) and of course the appropriate equipment.
A full list of compatible Garmin devices can be found here , but I advise you not to be afraid that the first place is Fenix 6 Pro Solar (test soon) for 850 euros - with Garmin Pay we also use the clearly cheaper vivomove Style, vivoactive 4 or Venu .
In the case of Fitbit, we have a choice of Ionic, Versa 2, Charge 4, Charge 3 (selected versions) and Versa (selected versions) models.
If someone needs more details about Garmin Pay, they will find it here . If, on the other hand, he is interested in Fitbit Pay, then he will find the right material soon on Spider's Web.
