This is what the new Xbox Store looks like
We have already seen the new video game store for Xbox. It looks great - aesthetically and legibly. However, I am afraid that it will be much worse with his actions.
Microsoft did a lot of good things about the Xbox platform - but it's definitely not the Xbox One interface. Apart from subjective issues such as aesthetics (I like this one), the experience of dealing with the Microsoft console is not the best. Menus are unresponsive, the console responds to commands with a delay, and individual submenus sometimes load absurdly long.
Microsoft Store version for Xbox One is especially annoying. Browsing and buying games in it is a real adventure, full of unexpected twists, lagging menus or loading with a delay but with the volume turned up to the maximum trailers. It is illegible, and some actions require far too many button clicks on the pad.
Then Project Mercury comes to the surface. That is a completely new Microsoft Store on Xbox One. It is beautiful and legible.
The first screenshots of the new game store appeared on Twitter yesterday. A few hours later Brad Sams managed to launch the Xbox One version of the Windows PC store. Thanks to it we can take a look at the new interface look and I don't know about you, but I really like what you see on the video.
The Microsoft Store for Xbox One is clearly to be maintained in the same style as the Windows Xbox app currently in public beta testing. They are almost like two drops of water, which we could have expected. And what makes me very happy, because the new look is not only pleasing to the eye, but also legible.
The store's assortment is divided into appropriate categories, and the screen of specific games is now much clearer with the appropriate division into sections. It is not clear when Mercury will hit as a Microsoft Store update - it is possible that it was only on the occasion of the market launch of the Xbox Series X console. I am certainly looking forward to the update, however.
But also full of fear. Mercury works on the PC on the attached video, so it's fast and responsive. Will it behave the same on Xbox One? Windows 10 on this device has 2 percent. GPU performance and 50 percent performance of a single dual-thread CPU and 3 GB RAM - the rest is available for video games running on the console. I'm afraid that unfortunately it will be as slow as it was. Although I would like to be wrong.
