Braindance mode in Cyberpunk 2077 - we explain how it works and what it is used for

I spent four hours with the pad in my hand and I already know what to expect from Cyberpunk 2077 . I also took a close look at the character creator, in which I could even choose the size of the genitals and talked about tasks with Paweł Sasko , i.e. the Lead Quest Designer in CD Projekt RED. There is one more aspect of this game that I would like to take a closer look at.

Braindance in Cyberpunk 2077

Hacking in the new CD Projekt RED production has several different dimensions. The main one comes down to simple mini games, but this is not the end - already in the prologue a special Braindance mode is available to the player, which allows you to play a virtual detective. This is much, much better than the infamous Witcher Senses from the previous studio game.

In the game world, Braindance (I use my own translation as Mind Dance, because the official translation of the game into Polish is not yet available) is the most popular way of spending free time by the residents of Night City. With the help of a headset they can enter other people's skin and ... relive their memories.

The technology called Braindance was created in the Cyberpunk universe as early as 2007. Today, i.e. equal to seven decades later, it is the only way that the lower social layers can taste this neokitschu, a lifestyle beyond 99.9%. members of the population that combines style and substance rather than preferring one to the other.

As part of a Braindance session, the user sees, hears and feels the same thing as the owner of the memory felt.

This is something much more complex than the VR we know today, but the main character is not interested in the entertainment values ​​of this solution. In the course of the action, V is immersed in someone else's memories in search of clues. As part of the Cyberpunk 2077 demo, I could participate in two such sessions during the show.

During the first Braindance session we learn the rules governing this mode. We learn to control the camera after leaving the body of a tracked person and start scanning the environment when we rewind the scene forward and backward. Sometimes, after discovering a clue, we have to go back to the beginning of the scene, to use it to obtain information, after we went to the virtual world.

The person performing Braindance in Cyberpunk 2077 must analyze visual and audio cues and thermal traces.

This last type of footprints was very important in the second session, which was one of the last missions in the demo I played. We followed a woman in the apartment that V and the crew planned to rob. Thanks to the analysis of the traces, we were able to find a hiding place in which the owner of the apartment kept a mysterious relic and prepare for action.

I have to admit that the idea is great and the only thing I could fault is control - there are a few buttons missing on the pad, so those responsible for jumping and crouching were assigned to other actions. I hope it can be changed and ... I hope that we will not braind in Cyberpunk 2077 too often, otherwise it will be unnecessary for us soon.
