I was in the shop. People put everything in their mouths, sneezed and wiped snot on the cart
The moment has come that for dinner you could only make rice noodles, and as part of quarantine entertainment to build an igloo from toilet paper rolls. That meant you had to go shopping.
In an act of desperation, I wanted to do some shopping in the local store, but the queue for him ended almost at the door of my apartment. And I live on the third floor. That is why I went to Lidl because it is the largest store relatively close to me.
I will tell you what I saw there
The first thing I noticed was the fact that few cars were parked under the store. I interpreted this as confirmation that people actually stayed at home and only go out to the store when it is necessary. Shopping has definitely ceased to be entertainment and something that Poles do to pass the time.
The second observation was the discovery that almost all customers use gloves. And I was in the store before the obligation to buy gloves was introduced. Some customers used free gloves, the availability of which was ensured by the store, but almost half of the clients came with their own gloves.
The third phenomenon I noticed was the increased popularity of masks covering the nose and mouth. I think every fourth customer was in a mask and a few people were covering their faces with scarves or something similar.
These were quite positive observations. However, after I spent a little more time in the store, I saw things that made me want to grab my head. And I would have done it were it not for touching my face.
Three shop horsemen of the apocalypse
I missed the facepalm for the first time when I saw a man in pink gloves. Such to wash. He kept the shopping list on the card through it. When he approached the section with tomatoes, he began to pack them in a bag. However, the shopping list disturbed him so much, he put it in his mouth. In this way he freed his hands and at the same time brought the whole mess of gloves and paper straight into his mouth. Nice agent.
Then I noticed a couple. She had gloves and a colorful mask on her face. Such in flowers. He only had gloves. As I approached them, he sneezed in his hand, wiped his braided and marked face with a glove, then grabbed it by the wheelchair. Well fat. I pretended not to see it and lined up at the checkout queue. Keeping a distance of 2 m of course.
After leaving the store I packed my shopping in the trunk. I noticed then that a woman came out wearing gloves. She touched them with products, a cart, etc. She untied the dog, pulled out cigarettes, felt one and put it in her mouth. I just thought jprdl and left.
The most shocking of all is the fact that the three people I found stupid during my quick purchases were prepared to go out to the store by buying their own gloves. You might think that they were even preventive, oversensitive and sensible.
Disappointment.
