Complaining about the internet in Plus, Play, Orange or T-Mobile?
Subscribers like to complain about their operators and will always find a hole in the whole - in this case, within Play, Plus, Orange or T-Mobile. However, looking at how telecoms from other countries are doing, we should be a little more forgiving to ours.
Complaining about the service provider when it does not meet the expectations of one hundred percent, is a normal reflex for every consumer. Rather, we do not praise the mobile operator, internet or electricity provider and our bank on a daily basis just because it works as it should.
These types of services are ... transparent. Using them very quickly enters our blood and we take them for granted. It is enough, however, that access to one will run out even for a moment and our lives will be on our minds. This is particularly severe for operators.
Despite this, we should not be too sharp in assessing the Play and Plus networks and the Polish branches of Orange or T-Mobile .
First, the prices of telecommunications services have stabilized at a very low level compared to other European countries - even taking into account the differences in earnings. Secondly, their quality is really good . Base stations do not work faster at neighbor.
To miss our telecoms, all you have to do is leave for a moment to England, Italy or Germany, or - worse - to the United States . Already many times, when I came back from vacation or business trip, I was breathing a sigh of relief when I saw the familiar logo on the iPhone display at the airport.
The power of our telecoms can even be seen in the mobile internet speed test.
It's true that LTE can accelerate under favorable conditions to several hundred megabits per second, but in practice average transfers are an order of magnitude smaller - but that doesn't matter. Maybe we are not a leader in Europe, but in this respect, compared to our neighbors, we are doing well.
According to rfbenchmark.pl data, the average download speed in Poland in 2019 was as much as 19.2 Mbp / s. Thanks to this, we hit the podium, because only three European countries recorded better results. The leader is France (19.9 Mb / s), which is chased by Austria (19.8 Mbps) and Portugal (19.3 Mb / s).
Other countries in Europe have a worse result than Poland.
This applies to our direct western neighbors, i.e. Germany (18.4 Mb / s), as well as Great Britain, which has just left the European Union (17.6 Mb / s). Scandinavian countries are also worse than us: Norway (16.5 Mb / s), Sweden (18.2 Mb / s) and Finland (18.1 Mb / s).
The worst result in Europe was recorded by Ukraine (9.7 Mb / s). At the same time, it is the only country where the average data download speed is lower than 10 Mb / s and is half of what we have. This country has the infamous lowest score when it comes to sending data: 3.4 Mb / s.
In contrast, uploads in Poland averaged 8.5 Mb / s.
This result is not as good as in the case of download, but we are still ahead of Germany (7.9 Mb / s) or the Czech Republic (8.1 Mb / s). The leader is Spain (10.3 Mb / s), which is chased by Austria (10.2 Mb / s) and the Netherlands (10.1 Mb / s), providing a higher average upload than the average download in Ukraine.
We also have nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to ping. The average delay in Poland is 69 ms. It is not much worse than in the case of the leader, which in this case is Latvia (59 ms) and also better than in Germany (71 ms). Also here Ukraine has a shameful record - up to 100 ms.
