The Poles have made a bot that will find you a job
More and more companies provide their services using chatbots, most often on the Facebook platform. Usually, however, this is the first line of technical support - if the bot's automatic response is not enough, you must apply for "real" support.
Pracuj.pl came up with another idea - it decided to adjust its service so that it was entirely accessible through the bot. It makes sense. Its users (and there are already 8.4 million of them) are looking for a job, often talking to a recruiter and revealing their predispositions and preferences as to their work.
When creating a new bot, Pracuj.pl decided to give it a name and personality . He was called Radzimil - because he was supposed to advise users.
Where did the idea of using the Messenger platform come from? In an interview with Spider's Web explains Piotr Kowalski, product owner of the project:
We are constantly working on making it easier for candidates to reach job offers. We are developing both the functionality of our website and mobile application, but we are also looking for new channels to reach users. That is why we paid attention to the potential of the Messenger, which at the end of 2018 was used by about 13 million people in Poland. This is a great tool that can additionally facilitate the process of looking for a job for a wide range of people. Messenger is a natural communication platform especially for younger users who use it to a larger and larger range of matters. They interact not only with relatives or friends but also with companies and service providers. That's why we decided to provide users using the Messenger the opportunity to look for job offers directly in their favorite communicator. Additionally, for employers publishing offers on our website, this is another channel for reaching candidates.
This raises the question: if access to the candidates' database already exists, from the level of the Web application, what creators saw the advantage of a chatbot-based solution?
Chatbot is an extension of the search engine when it comes to the search functionality itself. His additional advantage is the conversational way of interaction. The user answers the chatbot's questions, and thanks to his replies, Radzimil offers offers that meet the criteria set by the candidate. In the case of chatbot ease of use is one of the main benefits for people looking for a job - says Piotr Kowalski.
Chatbot using the Messenger uses the same data sources as the search engine on the website. Radzimiła was prepared to have a nice and acceptable personality. This is a trend that Microsoft notes , employing a special staff of people to build a personality, among others Cortany . Pracuj.pl approached the topic "recruitment":
We based on research with users. First, "recruitment" and chatbot training took place, in order to develop a user-friendly person. Based on data collected from previous conversations with users, we have created several personalities - candidates for the role of Pracuj.pl chatbot. Of these, Radzimił was chosen. During conceptual work, we also considered who this tool was for and we worked out the so-called recruitment criteria, which we used to create candidates for work as a chatbot. During the research with the users we presented them with a proposal to talk with a few chatbots of different personalities and asked about their feelings. We also observed their reaction to the messages used by chatbot. In this way, we have chosen Radzimiła for this position - explains Piotr Kowalski.
Based on these analyzes, the ultimate character of Radzimiła was created.
The process of looking for a job can be stressful - that's why he should have a gentle disposition and a nice identity. His persona is a thirty-year-old with higher education who wants to help others in a quick and friendly way. It also shows a sense of humor and cheerfulness - it is meticulous but also sociable and forgiving.
With Radzimil we can not only talk - it also has a notification function (it can simply write to us on Messenger when the right offer appears) and remember the preferences of the person with whom he already spoke. On the programming side, Radzimil was created thanks to the cooperation of Pracuj.pl with a partner having its own platform for creating bots.
