Changes in roaming pricing in T-Mobile. Cheaper internet and lower prepaid fees
T-Mobile is another operator that has introduced new rates for roaming services just before May Day. We check new price lists.
Operators shall subsequently update their roaming service price lists. Just yesterday we informed that Orange will reduce the cost of subsidies for data transfer in prepaid tariffs , and today T-Mobile decided to take a similar step.
Roaming at T-Mobile - lower prices not only in prepaid tariffs.
As in the case of Orange, T-Mobile does not introduce any additional fees for subscribers. The price for data transfer after using the free 1GB package also drops from PLN 14.91 to PLN 4 gross for each additional gigabyte.
The payments will only be in prepaid and MIX offers. They amount to 0.1 net grosz, that is (0.0123 grammes gross) per minute of call and SMS or MMS and PLN 3.25 net (PLN 3.9975 gross) for 1 GB of data transfer.
The changes concern the rates of roaming services in Zone 1A for customers who have signed subscription contracts after July 1, 2018, MIX after July 9, 2018, and all pre-paid users. The new rates will apply from May 19, 2019 - we can read in the T-Mobile press release
Lower roaming prices are of course not a surprise.
Nearly two years ago, European telecoms had to adapt to new regulations known as roam like at home . The legislator assumed that subscribers should not pay for telecommunications services more than in the country during occasional travels around the European Union.
Of course, telecoms were not against it for a reason. In practice, Poles more often use their SIM cards, eg on holidays, than people from other European countries from their own when visiting ours. However, the operators had no choice but to introduce new rules every day.
There was, however, a possibility to collect surcharges in exceptional situations , as well as mechanisms that allowed telecommunications companies to protect against fraud. As a rule, however, roaming services have gone to such a level that you no longer have to be afraid of using them.
It is also worth remembering that further price cuts in roaming services are not only the good will of operators such as T-Mobile and Orange. It is influenced by the establishment of new wholesale rates, which telecoms may not exceed.
